Road Trip

This past weekend, Phil and I went to Texarkana, Texas for the wedding of one of his oldest friends, Steve. Phil, Steve, Phil's brother Kevin, and Steve's brother Tony have all been best friends since Junior High school. They have been through a lot together, including all of them (and their wives) moving to various parts of New England together! Steve has worked for Wal-Mart for years and years, and he helped all of the rest of the guys get management jobs with the company--first Tony, then Kevin, and finally Phil. It involved all of us moving to New Hampshire in stages: Tony left in the summer of 2002, Kevin and Ashley moved a year later during the summer of 2003, and we followed in October of that year. The following Fall, Tony married Dottie Lou here in Arkansas and then she joined us up north. However, soon after that Kev and Ash transferred back to Arkansas, and we transferred the following February 2005. Steve moved back the month after we did. Tony and Dottie Lou stayed for another year by themselves (with the addition of their daughter Riley)and then they moved back here as well. Anyway, Steve now lives in Texarkana, and he got married to Jennifer Miller yesterday, and of course all of the guys were groomsmen in the wedding. The guys headed down on Thursday evening, and Dottie Lou and I made the trip Friday afternoon in time for the rehearsal and dinner. The wedding was at two Saturday afternoon. It was lovely, we all really like Jennifer, and we had a really good time. Also, I am just slightly jealous because Steve and Jennifer are now on the beach in Mexico. That would be nice.
